Most people will benefit from greater understanding of the enormous options there are for groups, the instruments used, number of musicians, cost, and scope of the music to be performed.  Jazz and classical music decisions are vastly improved when you get a lot of expert advice and insight into how the choices you are considering will affect the "feel" of your event.

Jazz and classical musicians are hard to shop for by just listening to demos, or listening to them live in a restaurant or concert.  The style, interpretation, acoustic sound, and repertoire that you hear in a single setting  may be exactly what you want but  there is no assurance that it will come out that way in the venue for your event.  Or you may hear a group that is exactly what you need but they didn't happen to be performing on that occasion in anything like the style or with the repertoire that you have in mind.  Here the objective experiences of agents are very important to you.  The best agents know, halls, acoustics, repertoire, groups, artists' personalities, and other important considerations.

• Dixieland - 5 to 6 musicians - New Orleans style, Roaring 20s, Ragtime

• Smooth Jazz - also called Fusion or Commercial Jazz
